3 Big Things:
- Allie Quigley has an impressive resume, and is a career 40% shooter from three. Chris Paul is a career 37% shooter from distance. Of course, the women’s arc is closer than the men’s, so Paul’s career 46% rate on long twos might be a better comp. Both veterans have been sizzling this season, with Quigley knocking down 44% of her threes and CP3 above 50% from everywhere on the court inside the arc. With as atypical a competition as this is, I really don’t think there’s a clear favorite.
- I, like you, miss basketball. If Chris Paul doesn’t advance, and we don’t have another round to give way too much attention to, it will be the most gutting exhibition loss in Thunder history.
- Paul is as competitive and as crafty as they come. My prediction: he starts with some of the wildest shots you can imagine, but reverts to layups and freethrows if he falls behind by more than a letter. Paul for the win (please).
