KD dominated the Melo-Goodman game

If there was ever a place to be for a Thunder fan Tuesday night, it was in Baltimore for the Melo-Goodman game that featured Kevin Durant, Jeff Green, LeBron James, Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony.

It pretty much came down to this: KD’s team lost 149-141, but Durant, with LeBron checking him, dropped 59 points, pretty much holding his team in the game by himself.

Michael Lee of the Washington Post was there and his Twitter feed is darn near orgasmic. A sampling:

LeBron finished with 32 (some say 42), Melo 27. Yeah your team won, but KD stole the show. Which in that setting, almost counts for more.

KD’s night at Rucker generated more buzz and while 66 is indeed more than 59, this is way more impressive. It was 59 with maybe the league’s best defender checking him all night. It was 59 while KD was trying to carry his overmatched squad against a group of superstars. And how sick was KD’s handle in that second clip? Holy Durantula.

Lesson here: If this stupid lockout costs me chances to see KD do this in real games, I’m going to have to pull a gaynor into an empty pool.
