Monday Bolts: 5.15.17
It’s Monday. Let’s do it all over again.
Tramel’s Oladipo report card: “The Thunder long has sought a 3-and-D wing – a player who can defend well on the perimeter and shoot solidly from 3-point range. It has one in Oladipo. The website fivethirtyeight.com found 20 NBA players who made at least 33.3 percent of their 3-pointers and also had a defensive real plus/minus of at least 1.0. Defensive real/plus minus is a metric that measures a player’s defensive impact on his team. Oladipo was among the 20.”
Royce joined the RealGM Radio podcast to discuss the Thunder’s season, summer and future
Bleacher Report has OKC taking Oregon PF Jordan Bell at 21 in their latest mock draft: The 6’9″ PF averaged 10.9 PPG & 8.8 RPG for the Ducks last season. NBADraft.net has his NBA comp as Bo Outlaw, and I’m on board with this only if it includes the rec specs.
Tramel gives Semaj Christon his report card: “Andre Roberson was not the Thunder’s worst shooter. Christon made just 19 percent of his 3-point shots. He made just 32.3 percent of 2-point shots longer than 15 feet. And Christon made just 54.8 percent of his foul shots. When a point guard is not a great penetrator and struggles to make a shot, his options are limited.”

The Warriors notched the largest Conference Finals comeback in 15 years. *Yawns
Zaza Pachulia: Dirty play?
Kawhi didn’t publicly think the play was dirty. “Did he step under it? Like, on purpose? No. He was contesting the shot. The shot clock was coming down. I’ll have to see the play.”
Wizards/Celtics Game 7 tonight. Here’s a look at the development of John Wall’s jumper. “Atop the table, it was also clear Wall had also reached a pinnacle of sorts in his career. The shot that forced a Game 7 against the Boston Celtics on Monday night was both the result of a quick decision made with 3.9 seconds left in a game and the culmination of five years of working to develop a jump shot that wasn’t very good when Wall entered the NBA.”
