MRI reveals no further damage to Russell Westbrook’s knee
You are now free to exhale.
Russell Westbrook underwent an MRI on his right knee Saturday and it revealed no further damage other than confirming a knee sprain.
The injury occurred in the third quarter against the Raptors when Kyle Lowry inadvertently crashed into Westbrook’s surgically repaired right knee.
Westbrook isn’t expected to miss any time because of the injury, but will continue to follow the initial plan to manage his minutes and availability in back-to-backs. So for example, if he sits Monday against the Nuggets, it wouldn’t be because of the injury, but part of the management plan.
