Paul George to Start 2019 NBA All-Star Game

The 2018-19 season just got a little better for Paul George, as the Thunder’s superstar small forward has been named a starter in February 17’s All-Star Game in Charlotte. George received 3.1 million fan votes to secure one of the five starting positions available to Western Conference players.

A look at the complete list of starters out of the Western Conference, as selected by fan, media, and player voting:

George is in the midst of a stellar second season in Oklahoma City, averaging career-high numbers in scoring (27 PPG), rebounds (7.9), and steals (2.3), while also shooting 38.9 percent from long range. This is his sixth All-Star selection overall and his first time starting in the Western Conference. He earned two starting spots while playing in the East with the Indiana Pacers.

All-Star reserves will be selected by the coaches and are scheduled to be announced on January 31 at 6:00 PM CST on TNT. Russell Westbrook and Steven Adams, who both did very well in the first round of voting, will have to wait a bit longer to find out if they made the cut.
