Pregame Primer: Thunder (6-0) vs. Magic (3-4)

Game Info

NBA.com preview | Tip-off: 8:15 PM | Broadcast: Local/League Pass

3 Big Things

  • Putting the Magic in a straightjacket. Orlando is 25th in offensive rating, and without Paulo Banchero. Unless the Magic pull rabbit out of their hat, the Thunder should constrain another foe to dismal scoring.
  • On the offensive. The Thunder are ticking back up in offensive efficiency, themselves. But Orlando is another young, forceful defense, and a good test for OKC's improving shooting and playmaking.
  • Sleepy schedule. Oklahoma City only had one day off after a 3-in-4 road trip ended in LA late Saturday night. The Thunder players are slightly younger and in slightly better shape than me, but I've been weary-eyed trying to keep up with this schedule from my couch. This matchup that could become a battle of effort and energy, and the Thunder need the home crowd for a little extra juice.

Prediction

I smell a rock fight, and the end of the Thunder's double-digit MOV streak. OKC 99 ORL 91.
