Russell Westbrook, Paul George All-Star Game Recap
Russell Westbrook and Paul George enjoyed heavy minutes in Sunday night’s All-Star Game, as Team LeBron came back to take a 148-145 win over Team Steph. Both of the Thunder’s representatives were on the floor down the stretch in the win, making plays in a game that was far more competitive than fans have seen in recent years.
Westbrook was placed in the starting lineup in place of DeMarcus Cousins — and although he struggled a bit with his shot, he came up just two rebounds and two assists shy of a triple-double. George was leaned on for his defense and also went 4/10 from downtown — a clip that far exceeded his showing in last night’s three-point contest.
Final stat lines and highlights:
Westbrook: 11 pts, 8 ast, 8 reb, 4/11 FG, 28 min, +12
Westbrook finds LeBron James on the break for a reverse dunk alley-oop:
George: 16 pts, 5 reb, 4 ast, 1 stl, 6/15 FG, 27 min, +11
George gets the three-pointer to fall, then steals it back and finished with a jam:
All-in-all, it was an entertaining All-Star Game and a successful trip for the Thunder’s star duo. LeBron James was named MVP for a 29 point, 10 rebound, 8 assist effort.
