On the latest Hoops Collective Podcast episode, Brian Windhorst (ESPN) revealed that the late Jerry West was Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's biggest champion when the Clippers drafted him in 2018.
The Logo was a consultant for the Clippers at the time, selling SGA and his agent on LA and doing his best to ensure the future phenom stayed within reach. Per Windhorst, LA issued Gilgeous-Alexander a promise at #12 before trading up to get him at #11. The Shai discussion starts at 24:08:
