Thunder fizzle against Bucks, lose NBA Cup

MIL 97 OKC 81
After dominating the buzz and hype cycle in the leadup to the NBA Cup final game, the Thunder laid an egg against the Bucks. Dame went 5-10 from deep, Giannis ravaged OKC for 26/19/10 and 5 stocks, and only two Thunder players shot over 50% on the night (iHart and Cason Wallace). In a rarity, SGA struggled from the floor (8-24) and getting to the line (3-4 FTA), while mainstays Isaiah Joe, Jalen Williams, Lu Dort, and Alex Caruso combined to go 2-16 from three.
Oklahoma City loses out on the prize money, but the game does not count as a regular season loss.
Next up: The fun is over. The consolation for OKC? A brutal travel schedule. The Thunder will play 21 games over the next 43 days, starting with a Florida back-to-back opening in Orlando this Thursday.
