Top 10 plays of 2013-14
The Thunder wrapped the sixth — sixth! — regular season in Oklahoma City, and before things officially proceed into the postseason, let us reflect on the fun stuff from the 82 games that we saw.
So here are what I consider the top 10 plays from the 2013-14 season. You’re not allowed to disagree because this top 10 is FACT.
10. Block, block, goose
Joakim Noah tried once, then tried again. Serge Ibaka said nope both times. Outlet to Kevin Durant, and three points. Pretty good play, Thunder.
9. KD time
The Thunder were slipping against the Wolves. No Russell Westbrook, and it was obvious this team was in a very difficult place. But don’t worry, it’s cool, because Kevin Durant. His fourth quarter eruption from the 3-point line was him doing what we all know him to be capable of, except they all went in this time. And then he went and hit the game-winner with four seconds left to cap it off.
8. Two points in the blink of a block
All it took was a volleyball spike by Serge Ibaka and the Thunder were off and running. One kick ahead to KD, two giant gallops forward, and points. The power and destruction of the Thunder illustrated in a four-second blink of an eye. Ridiculous, these guys are.
7. Accio overtime
The Thunder were about to drop an ugly loss to the Wizards. And wouldn’t you know it, that guy did something.
6. Goodbye, Hawks
They sent damn near their whole team to stop KD. Didn’t matter.
5. One cross, two cross, three cross points
“Anything he wants. Anything.”
4. Rock that cradle
Sometimes, Russell Westbrook’s unfiltered insanity pays off with a spectacular thing.
3. Goodbye Raptors
You can’t let Kevin Durant walk into a 3 like that. Ever.
2. Showdown with LeBron
Remember how fun this was? This was really fun.
And probably the night Durant made his loudest MVP statement.
1. Russell Westbrook buzzer beats the Warriors
Revenge.
And it wouldn’t be complete without this absurd courtside view:
