Darnell Mayberry on KD’s dust-up with OU fans: “My advice is to let Durant do what he does. He plays his heart out for the Thunder and that should be all that matters. As for the rivalry, and Durant’s needling, just wait for that special weekend in October. Wait until the Sooners smack the Longhorns so good Durant doesn’t want to leave the house. Then let him hear about it. That’s how you handle it. Should Kevin Durant be able to diss OU?”
Kurt Helin of PBT on the Thunder selling out their tickets already: “The sell out says something about that city’s commitment to the team, although you can wonder what would happen if the Thunder were not one of the NBA’s up-and-coming teams, a title contender with a huge star in Kevin Durant. This is not a big market to draw from, it’s something to wath should this team ever struggle for a few years. But for now, people want to see the Thunder. And Durant. The other teams to sell out season seats? The Lakers, Celtics, Bulls and Knicks. In keeping with Miami in-game traditions, Heat fans will show up and sell out games after the first quarter of the season.”
KD’s got a video coming out soon where he’s going to talk about tattoos, wearing a Bulls hat, dissing OU and other stuff. Just a heads up.

Malcolm Gladwell’s piece on Grantland was fairly amazing: “Let us recap. At the very moment the commissioner of the NBA is holding up the New Jersey Nets as a case study of basketball’s impoverishment, the former owner of the team is crowing about 10 percent returns and the new owner is boasting of “explosive” profits. After the end of last season, one imagines that David Stern gathered together the league’s membership for a crash course on lockout etiquette: stash the yacht in St. Bart’s until things blow over, dress off the rack, insist on the ’93 and ’94 Cháteau Lafite Rothschilds, not the earlier, flashier, vintages. For rich white men to plead poverty, a certain self-discipline is necessary. Good idea, except next time he should remember to invite the Nets.”
A slick James Harden crossover.
Nazr Mohammed is organizing more Thunder workouts, these coming in Lexington.
A tweet from Michael Lee of the Post: “Kevin Durant likes hoops movies Space Jam, Hoosiers, Blue Chips & He Got Game but also…Kazaam. “Just because Shaq was in it, I liked it.”
