⚡WIGGSANITY
Aaron Wiggins has averaged 23 points and 7 rebounds on absurd 50/40/90 splits over his last five games. Wiggsanity started when the Thunder role player opened the game in Jalen Williams' place on February 1, and has continued as he's thrived as a starter and scoring threat in the absence of Lu Dort, Cason Wallace, and the other intermittently dinged up OKC guards.
Is this real? Is Aaron Wiggins the answer in the Thunder's backcourt pecking order behind SGA and JDub, now that Chet has shored up the frontcourt rotation? I'm stealing and modifying DT's bwalker's suggestion: Wiggs and Hartenstein should alternate as starters, depending on the matchup.
⚡CHET WATCH
Chet Holmgren will play again, and Dort is set to return. Isaiah Joe joins Wallace, though, in the OUT column for tonight. I'm Chetwatching for two things, should Mark Daigneault assign Holmgren enough minutes for us to glean from: how Chet continues to impact the team's defensive chokehold on opponents (OKC’s defensive rating during Chet’s 22 minutes against Toronto: 93.3) and how much smoother the offense starts to look in non-SGA minutes.
⚡Pelican'ts
Zion Williamson returned to the court last month, and has been putting up numbers when not getting rest. But the Pelicans are 2-8 in his last 10 appearances and have lost 8 straight overall. They recently traded away Brandon Ingram, and lost Dejounte Murray for the season. It's been a rough year for New Orleans, and the Pels have a rough remaining roster to try and hang with the Thunder.
Prediction: OKC 122 NOP 94
25+ for Wiggs.
